Weekend in Memphis
Well, Ellie and I had a wonderful weekend in Memphis. We arrived on Thursday and began getting things ready for the baby shower we were having for my friend Alicia at my mom and dad's house. Alicia is having twins and she is 31 weeks- Yay! She had about 70-80 people (I am terrible at guessing numbers) there and received a ton of great gifts. It was so much fun seeing old friends and catching up. On Sunday, we had lunch with my brother Ryan, his wife Heather, and their two little boys, Buck- 16 months and Theodore 2 1/2 months. I love it when Ellie gets together with her cousins. Ellie had her first big girl cold while we were there. Her allergies flared up as soon as she got off the plane- all the Bradford Pear trees in bloom. She had two new teeth coming in also, so she was snotty and drooly all over the place. Then on Saturday afternoon she became very lethargic and had a temp of 100. We were worried, but she slept well that night and had more energy the next day. I was also worried about our plane ride home on Monday- that she would cry the whole time because she felt so icky, but praise the Lord we made it with only a few traumas. Because of all the snot and drool, you mothers out there know this means diarrhea is on its way. Well, she ate and had a bottle on the plane and then shortly thereafter we had a stinky diaper. The flight attendant pointed us to the bathroom where Ellie ended up throwing her pants in the airplane toilet that I had to fish out and she was half naked for the rest of the flight. The flight attendant kept trying to hand me cocktail napkins to wipe Ellie's face and I kept telling her that it would only make her more mad. They were also adamant about making me stay buckled the entire flight which is impossible with a wiggly baby. I don't think they had kiddos:)
Sweet Heather and little Theodore.
Buck playing a game with Ellie where he would pretend to give her the wipes and then snatch them away. He thought this was hilarious and did it a million times. He is so cute in his overalls and boots that were Ryan's when he was little
