This past weekend Bert had a work conference in Miami, so the kids and I took off for Austin, Texas! I have always wanted to visit Austin, even before we moved here. It is only about 3 1/2 hours from Dallas, so it was great for a quick weekend trip. We stayed at the Hilton downtown and could see 6th Street and the Texas Longhorn's stadium from our hotel window. The drive down there was so pretty with all the bluebonnets in bloom. Ellie and I stayed up till 10 o'clock watching It's Complicated while sweet Will slept like an angel in the pack n' play. We got up the next morning and played at Zilker Park. It is such a neat park with a huge play area, a river that runs through it- they even have an area where you can swim in the river- and a fun train that went all throughout the park.
Swinging at the park- The river and a running trail are all right behind this play area.
The train. This is us test driving the train before the actual ride. Ellie LOVES trains and kept saying Choo... Choo... while we were riding on it. It started raining on us towards the end of the ride, so we loaded up right after. As I was putting Will in the car I noticed he was completely asleep, even with raindrops falling on his face- he was pooped!
So was this sweet girl on the ride home:)

WOW, sounds like fun. You are so brave! I never go anywhere without Ryan, you are a super mom!
